Just take one step into a Crate and Barrel, Target, Hobby Lobby, or other major retail store - all around you are beautiful holiday decorations! Believe me - it's hard to resist the sparkly purple tree because it is so stinkin' pretty! But, as my husband always says - "Sweetie, c'mon, really?"
So - there are a couple lessons to this oh-so-familiar tale:
1) When you are planning your wedding - don't buy everything you see - that you think is gorgeous and would be the perfect addition to your cocktail tables on the veranda off the ballroom. Choose carefully and make sure you have a place for everything. You don't want to be left with a million pink, feathery frames do you?
2) On the other hand, use the holidays, and other retail extravaganza's as a time of brainstorming and inspiration. Just walking up and down the aisle's during this festive time of year can lend itself to many wonderful ideas and also some wonderful purchases - just make sure they are the right ones.
