Point Your Pinky & Celebrate!

Bridal showers have been a huge part of my life for the last 9 months - for many reasons!

So many women cringe when they get an invitation to one of these events. Whether it's the awkward conversations, the obnoxious games or the gift giving - women everywhere still attend because they "have to", even though they plan their exit long before arriving for the party.

So, because I have experienced these feelings myself, I always try to add a special touch to the showers I plan. I have said it before and I will say it again - themes work miracles for a party that would otherwise be doomed with boredom.

My most recent mission is a Bridal Shower Tea and I thought I would send you home with some thoughtful ideas to turn your next gig (bridal shower or otherwise) into a proper English Tea extravaganza!

1) The invitation :

  • Join the Ladies for A Spot of Tea…

  • A Spot of Tea, for you and me, a little for the bride-to-be

  • You are invited to a Bridal Shower Tea

  • Tea Time!

2)Decorations (a great way to get your mom or grandmother involved!):

  • Dig up your old mixed matched floral china
  • Beautiful linens made of lace and/or floral would look great!
  • Floral arrangements in tea pots and pitchers

  • Handmade doilies in the color scheme matching the event specifications

3) Menu

  • Assortment of Fine Teas
  • Lemonade

  • Iced Tea with Lemon and Raspberries

  • Croissants with Butter Balls and Jams

  • Mini Homemade Muffins

  • Mini Cucumber and Cream Cheese Sandwiches

  • Crumpets and Assorted Scones

  • Fresh Seasonal Fruit Salad

4) Favors

  • DIY tea bags with "thank you" tags

  • DIY loose lemonade bags with "thank you" tags

Martha Stewart and many other popular crafters have great, inexpensive ways to make your tea party beautiful, colorful and enjoyable for everyone. If you want ideas for games that go along with this party plan, feel free to contact me!
