Glitz and Glam ~ Hosting Your Oscar Bash

With the infamous Oscars only a week away, here are some simple DIY ways to prepare for your soiree.  
APPETIZERS
Create a menu that you can prep ahead of time like Shrimp Cocktail, Pita Chips topped with Crabmeat and Parsley, or Mini Double Decker Grilled Cheese and Bacon.  
DESSERT
Use fruits that are in season (apples, pears) and serve with heated caramel dipping sauce.  YUM!
COCKTAILS
Make pitchers of the cocktails you want to serve ~ Bellini's are great for an Oscar celebration.  
INSTYLE SERVING PIECES
If you must use disposable dishes, try bamboo or other higher end products.  They look classier than plastic and you definitely want that "class" on Oscar night!
FAME GAME
Leading up the show, play a fun group game involving the nominees and famous celebrity names or couples!
TAKE IT UP A NOTCH
If you really want your guests to feel like they are getting that "Hollywood Treatment", roll out a red carpet (many party rental companies have these available for little money) as they enter and offer high style items like oysters on the half shell.  You could even put together a "gift bag" with all your favorite products ~ just like the stars receive on Oscar Night!
