Keeping Your Wedding Social

I couldn't help sharing this fun idea for keeping your guests in the loop leading up to the big day.   Instead of or in addition to creating the traditional website, go social!  www.indygettinghitched.com shares some great tips to do just that...

Social media is everywhere and it’s popularity is hotter than ever. With blogs, facebook, twitter and custom websites easily available, adding social media to your wedding is a sinch.
Here’s how to optimize your wedding with social media:
  1. 1. Announce your engagement on your facebook status. You’ll be able to let all of your friends know your happy news with just a few quick clicks.

  2. 2. Create a twitter account. Make your handle something cute like @MRandMrs, @AndersonWedding, etc. Keep your followers up-to-date with your planning progress with quick and simple 160 character tweets.

  3. 3. Start a blog. Let your blog be your virtual scrapbook. Include planning updates and milestones, website links to your wedding vendors, engagement photos, and images of your wedding inspirations.

  4. 4. Create a wedding website. Companies like Wedding Wire and Wedding Window offer easy and free wedding websites. Take time to make a poll on your website to include your guests in your planning. A poll like “Where should we go on our honeymoon?” is a good way to keep readers excited.

Boldly Yours,
