Mason jars make a great alternative to expensive vases. They can be easily dressed up with ribbon, twine, or raffia to match any wedding style. They add a rustic and whimsical touch to the venue.

Homemade Jam
You could use mason jars for any food or drink favor. Jams, cookie mixes, cake mixes, or signature drinks are all great options. All the jars need is a cute label and some fabric and ribbon.

These are a great way to hold lemonade, iced tea, or even a specialty cocktail. If you are having an outdoor wedding, the mason jars filled with something icey-cold would make a great escort card following the ceremony.

Hanging mason jars look absolutely beautiful with candles in them or even clear Christmas lights. If using candles, my suggestion is to put a little sand in the bottom to keep the candle in place. Think about hanging them in non-tradition places - over the guest tables, the dance floor or over your cake table for the special, vintage "spotlight" feel.
I hope some of these ideas spark some inspiration. Be sure to come out to the IGH Bridal Show August, 24th to tell us about your proposal story for a chance to win a one night stay at the JW Marriott.
Boldly Yours,
Heidi
