What sets Lakeside Entertainment apart from other DJs in the area?
What separates Lakeside Entertainment from our local competition is the understanding of our clients idea’s, thoughts, and dreams and making them the priority we are striving for. We are not delivering exceptional service if we do not take the time to understand our client’s desires. We do not cookie-cut our process for the events we play. Instead we take the time to meet with each of our clients in person and allow them to communicate their expectations. Our mission is to deliver on these expectations and only make their event perfect!!
What is your favorite part about your job?
I started this job nearly 16 years ago shortly after I married my bride Tracy! I have always loved music regardless of genre. However, every wedding I play is special in that there are no two families the same. Over the past 15+ years I have personally disc jockey’d over 500 weddings and each one of them was unique to the bride & groom, friends, and family!
What recent project or client have you worked on/with that screamed “unique”?
Every wedding I play is unique for their own special reasons… And now, not to sound like a politician, there are a few that stand out. Any wedding I play that has an international twist has always been pretty unique in making it special for everyone. However, I DJ’d a wedding a couple of years ago in which the bride was from Venezuela. She introduced me to a 1hr melody mix of music that was called “Crazy Hour”, and believe me it was “Crazy”!! They had big colorful hats, costumes, glasses, etc. for all their guests. It was a great time for everyone!! In preparation for this event, she had her relatives come to my house prior to the reception to help make the melody mix. They arrived at my home at 10pm and left around 2am. Crazy!!
Where is your favorite place to relax and be inspired?
My favorite place to relax is either in any place I can enjoy sunshine on my face, or simply in our home! As a father of 6 with 5 being at home, rest and relaxation is overrated. However, inspiration for my job usually comes in the middle of the night… The kids are fast asleep and it gives me time to listen to all kinds of music. I love picking out an artist on Amazon.com and that they give me suggestions of similar artists. I have been introduced to some really incredible music by doing this.
What do you love to do when you are not making people dance?
If I am not spending time rockin’ a dance floor, my enjoyment comes from spending time with my family. We love riding bikes, going to the pool in the summer, going to the library, and playing games… If the opportunity presents itself, I enjoy going out for sushi with Tracy!
